NDRRA REPA PROJECT MANAGEMENT 1

Following the effects of floods in Queensland, Brandon & Associates were engaged to take part in National Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) road reconstruction projects across the Western Downs Regional Council area.

As a result of the 2011, 2013 and 2014 rain events in the region, Western Downs Regional Council’s large road network experienced significant and widespread damage. The scale of the works was outside Council’s capacity to manage and deliver and needed external providers to deliver an accelerated program within the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) deadlines.

Brandon & Associates were engaged immediately after the flood water started to recede in 2011, to lead Council staff in the development of the NDRRA funding submissions. These early works included:

• Development of scope of works documentation for NDRRA funding submissions

• Civil Contractor engagement during the emergent period

• Preparation of emergent works claims

• Preparation of DTMR emergent works claims on behalf of Council

Since that early engagement, Brandon & Associates maintained their relationship with Council during the subsequent flood events in 2013 & 2014 and as QRA increased the monitoring and reporting requirements for Councils, Brandon & Associates also increased their support to meet the new expectations.
